Lee Taylor 2026 Seminars

Would you like a seminar at your school/Dojo?  Lee Taylor BCKA 6th Dan Instructor, MKG Instructor, and Ghost Elusive Combat Instructor is available to arrange a seminar for your needs. Topics include:

Kata & Bunkai - Have Pads will travel!
Based on the Heian/Pinan Kata (along with other kata based drills) Simple plug in and play drills, accessible to all levels and styles. Enhance your skill and understanding, and bridge the gap between solo practise and bunkai.

 Ghost Elusive Combat
Designed by Phil Norman, Ghost is an elusive combat system designed for sport fighting where the rules allow you to stand and strike. Ghost was born and developed in competition. It has been tried and tested in the ring, in the cage and come out on top. Ghost is for all ages and abilities for those who don't want to get PUNCHED in the face!

 Kali – Panantukan
Kali is primarily a weapons-based art that originated in the Philippines. The word itself—like Escrima and Arnis—is an umbrella term for all Filipino Martial Arts (FMA). A fast-paced and effective art, Kali is lot of fun. Sometimes called “dirty boxing”  Panantukan students learn to strike any part of the body from a variety of angles, using unexpected and ingenious defensive moves along the way. It’s an art unlike any other.

Seminar Reviews:

Iain Abernethy 8th Dan - “Modern training equipment allow us to train in ways the past masters could not. In particular, focus mitts allow us to hit at angles and with a level of realism that traditional striking tools such as the Makiwara can’t match. These cleverly designed drills correspond to each of the five Pinan / Heian kata and will develop tactical positioning (use of the angles in kata), limb-control (use of hiki-te, muchimi, etc) and impact. Combined with solo-kata, bunkai training and live practise, these pad drills “complete the circle” and show just how pragmatic the Pinan / Heian series can be.  They are great “plug and play” drills that are easy to adopt and will add value to your practise and teaching. Highly recommended!”

Do He Dai Shotokan Karate - Lee came and did an amazing seminar with us at the judo club in Cheshunt . His knowledge is immense and he even got involved and trained as well. Add to that he is a lovely human being. Having him on the seminar circuit is a huge boost to all of us. Book him now while you can .

Adam Cockfield – Shotokan - Dan Sensei and I had a great time training with Lee Taylor Sensei this weekend at the Karate Kali Connection Course along with Dave and Seb from Total Shotokan. We started with single stick drills, stick vs unarmed and then unarmed and all drills were built around the concept of using angles effectively and the principles of movement being the same, either armed or unarmed. We finished with Hubud drills (similar to pushing hands or Kake), working on creating a flowing action.

It was brilliant to train with a really talented martial artist and instructor but also reassuring that the concepts and principles we teach in our group are reinforced by sessions like this.

Craig Penman – Fudoshin Jissen Karate-Do - A great weekend of study under the guidance of old friend Lee Taylor. Many hours spent working through “Ananko”. From the kata form to 2 person drills to live drills to kata based sparring drills.

Fabulous weekend from a very insightful and knowledgeable instructor. Thanks for a great weekend Lee.

Testimonials
I am relatively new to the BCA/BCKA, I left my previous Association 3 years ago to pursue a more practical approach to my training and teaching. It was Iain Abernathy who recommended I give Peter Consterdine a call. In our first phone call, Peter came across helpful, open-minded and supportive to my needs. He explained what the BCA/BCKA could provide and how it’s run. I received an information pack in the post and it ticked all the boxes. It is a very professionally run association. The admin is run extremely efficiently by Dawn and Peter provides constant support and advice to all his members. The wealth and depth of knowledge in the Instructors of the BCA/BCKA is second to none. I am extremely happy I found such a humble and supportive Association.
