Krav Maga Stockport

Krav Maga is a self-defence system developed for the Israel Defence Forces that consists of a wide combination of techniques sourced from aikido, judo, boxing & wrestling. along with realistic fight training.

It is know for its focus on real-world situations and it's extreme efficiency and brutal counter-attacks. Krav Maga has a philosophy emphasising threat neutralisation, simultaneous defensive and offensive manoeuvres and aggression.

Krav Maga encourages students to avoid confrontation. If this is impossible or unsafe, it promotes finishing a fight as quickly as possible. Students learn to defend against all variety of attacks and are taught to counter in the quickest and most efficient way.

Training can also cover the study and development of situational awareness to develop an understanding of one's surroundings, learning to understand the psychology of a street confrontation, and identifying potential threats before an attack occurs.

It also teaches mental toughness, using controlled scenarios to strengthen mental fortitude in order for students to control the impulse and not do something rash, instead, attack only when is necessary and as a last resort.

Chief Instructor - Dr Mike Jones

30 years in martial arts, Dr Mike Jones first trained in Krav Maga in Israel in the '80's. A master of martial arts, Mike competed in MMA at a high level and has taught for 15 years. Mike brings his own experience into his KM training, having studied Systema, Kali Silat and Aikido to a high level.
